    Good evening,

Pahaska picked up around 5" of snow from the last front that moved through on Wednesday.  This really helped to fill in thin areas and level out some rolling terrain.

    Trails groomed:

Becker's, Outlaw, Penny's, Haul road to SG, SG East, Moose Flats, Race Park, Crow Creek, Middle fork and the Highway to the east Entrance.

The dog trail, (East of the river) was also groomed and track was set for the first time this season.

The Featured Trails this week are the SG East Trails. Located East of Sleeping Giant Ski Area, these trails have outstanding, rolling terrain with open views of Crow Peak, Cody Peak and the Canfield drainage. Either ski from Pahaska via the Haul Road, or park at Sleeping Giant and take a left near the double chairlift.  The same rules apply to this trail network as the rest; no dogs, etc...

Session 2 of the Nordic Kids program from 10-12 on Saturday

Sunday is World Snow Day, with free adult ski clinics from 1-2 PM.

    See you on the trails!

Trails were groomed Friday Morning. Around an inch of new snow helped to whiten everything up. The trails are getting very level and are fast!

As usual, the grooming crew uses both snowmobiles/ Ginzu Groomers and the snowcat to divide and conquer the trail prep.

    Trails groomed by snowmobile:

Moose Flats, Crow Creek (the barn loop), Barn Road, Race Park (including all cutoffs), Becker Trail and Penny's Passage.

    Trails Groomed by Snowcat:

Middle Fork, The Highway to YNP, Haul Road to SG, all trails east of SG and Outlaw.

All trails were set for classic and skate skiing.

Remember, if you are a snowshoer, please use the side of the trail opposite of the classic tracks and walk in a single-file line.

Temps look warm for the coming week, with the possibility of rain on Tuesday, so plan accordingly and try to stay off the trails while its raining. Hopefully it comes down mostly as snow!

    Keep doing your snow dances!

    Happy New Year!

2022 Ended with a nice storm, bringing us around 6" of snow; just in time for the first Nordic Kids ski program of the season!  All the trails on the North side of the Highway were groomed on Saturday Morning. Later in the day, after the snow had stopped, the groomers packed the remaining trails.

Work resumed Sunday morning to groom and track all the trails.

Trails groomed: Moose Flats, Barn Road, Crow Creek, Race Park, Middle Fork, Becker's, Haul Road to SG, Penny's, SG East and Outlaw.

The dog trail was also groomed and we anticipate being able to set track on it after the next snow.

The snow cat from Lake has been over Sylvan Pass, so the skiing in the park should be quite good as well.

Here's your chance to start the New Year off right with a good ski!

    Good Evening,

Despite rain and warm temps on Tuesday, the trails held up fairly well. The groomers were able to take advantage of the cooler temps and  2" of snow that fell after the rain.

    Trails Groomed:

Moose Flats, Crow Creek, Barn Road, Race Park, Middle Fork, Becker's, Penny's, Haul Road to SG, SG East, Penny's, the Highway and the Dog trail.

The Trails are fast and firm. More snow is expected Friday through Saturday night, so hopefully we will have a nice refresh for the new year.

    See you on the trails!

    The Groomers

Due to the very warm temperatures and rain the last the few days, the groomers have held off of any resets until temps have returned to seasonal levels.  Grooming when it is too warm or too wet can do more damage to the existing base and cause it to turn to ice, we want to preserve the quality of the snow.

The plan is to groom tomorrow, (Thursday) as temps will be in the 20's and then again Saturday before the Youth ski programs.

Given the extra day for the snow to dry out, the trails should groom up nicely.

    Stay tuned for more updates.

Christmas is right around the corner!

The Grooming elves were busy freshening up the trails for the weekend after 3-4" of snow through the week.  Temps never got quite as cold as in town and the snow groomed up beautifully.

Trails groomed:  Moose Flats, Crow Creek, Barn Road, Race Park, Middle Fork, Becker Trail, Haul Road to SG, Pennys, Outlaw and all of SG East including Granny's Cutoff.

The Highway and Dog Trail were also groomed.  No tracks set on the dog trail but its in good shape.

More snow is in the forecast for Christmas Day, (Sunday) and again on Tuesday.  We will be resetting the trails as needed throughout  the Holiday weekend.

    Merry Christmas!

The Groomers hit the trails on Friday, 12/16.

Trails Groomed: Moose Flats, Crow Creek, Barn Road, Race Park, Middle Fork, the Highway, (ski side and snowmobile side), Haul Road to SG, SG East, Penny's, Becker trail and Outlaw.

    Trails not groomed:

    Dog Trail

Bitter cold temps are coming the middle of this week! While it is likely that it will be warmer at Pahaksa than it is in town, there will still likely be single-digit temps and rounds of heavy snow.  If you go, be prepared and have the necessary clothing and equipment to be out for an extended period of time.

There's potential for a good amount of snow this week, so depending on the forecast and outcome, the groomers will plan on which day(s) they will be up, but they plan to have trails ready for the Christmas weekend.

    See you on the trails,

a few inches of snow fell through the week. All trails were reset with full track and skate lanes, including the highway to the Park.  The Park Groomer came over from Lake so the skating up the pass should be great this weekend.

The Dog Trail was refreshed and widened and is in good shape. One good way to access the dog trail is to park in the highway pullout just before you reach Pahaska. This saves a walk back across the highway bridge.

One note about Dogs on the highway; please plan to pick up your dog's waste and throw it off the groomed trail. Rex Brown is not a good wax to have on your skis, it makes them doggy... (Dad joke)

    See you on the trail.
